Your first decision when looking for bearded dragons for sale is whether to buy wild-caught or captive bred
specimens.
Wild caught bearded dragons can suffer from parasites such as intestinal worms, are unlikely to be very tame (some even become so stressed
that they eventually die of it in captivity), may have parts "missing" - such as the end of the tail, a toe, or some skin - as a result of scuffles in the wild.
Lastly, it can be difficult to work out how old wild caught bearded dragons are.
In general therefore when looking for bearded dragons for sale you're best to look for captive bred animals.
These will generally be healthy, fully aclimatised, parasite free and will thrive with very little effort from you.
The next question to ask is how old a bearded dragon you should be looking for?
The younger the bearded dragon is that you buy, the easier it will be for him to get used to being around you and your daily routines.
You will also be starting with a "clean slate" and will have the fun of not only taming him yourself (much easier in younger bearded dragons) but also
watching him grow up from a tiny hatchling to full-sized adult.
I have found this to be very satisfying, and you may even choose in the end to go full circle and try breeding your bearded dragon when he reaches maturity (after 9-12 months of age).
When looking for bearded dragons for sale it is generally best to look at specialist outlets - breeders and suppliers who specialise, or at least have someone very knowledgeable in, reptiles.
That way you can be sure that the baby bearded dragons for sale will have been properly looked after between leaving their mother and arriving at your house.
You could consider looking for specialist reptile stores in the phone book, or you could take a look at the world's largest online pet store which maintains a list of quality reptiles available - you can find out
